Salman Khan Is Highest Paid TV Personality with Big Boss 6

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is reportedly being paid Rs 4 crore for each episode of Big Boss 6 making him the highest paid Indian TV personality ever. Salman is hosting the reality TV series for the third consecutive time this season and the show's rating boost over the past two seasons made it easy for him to negotiate a heftier per episode paycheck, from the Rs 2.8 to 3 crore that he is believed to have been paid last season.

Also, the box office success of his recent films has elevated Salman's standing in the industry. (He was reportedly paid Rs 20 crore for endorsing a soft drink brand recently.) In comparison to Salman's Rs 4 crore paycheck, Aamir Khan reportedly received Rs 3 crores for every episode of 'Satyamev Jayate.' Bigg Boss 6 kicked off Sunday, October 7 with host Salman Khan performing on songs like "Bodyguard" and "Mashallah". Rani Mukerji appeared on the inaugural episode to promote her upcoming film Aiyyaa.

The "Bigg Boss" house is located in Lonavala this year. The contestants will have 70 cameras, 15 more than the 55 cameras last season, monitoring their activities 24x7.

Kareena Kapoor Wedding Lehenga By Manish Malhotra

Manish Malhotra seems to have had enough of other designers taking credit and hogging headlines for designing the trousseau of his ‘best friend’ Kareena Kapoor. In an exclusive chat, the designer claims that only he has designed all the outfits that the actor will wear during various functions around her upcoming wedding with beau Saif Ali Khan on October 16.

But designer Ritu Kumar has been claiming that she has restored Sharmila Tagore’s 40-year-old lehenga which Kareena will wear on the wedding day... That’s not true at all. For the past two weeks, the workers in my unit have been painstakingly restoring Sharmila ji’s old wedding lehenga that Bebo will wear for her nikaah on the 16th. I’ve put a lot of effort into carefully restoring the golden zardosi work. I don’t know how someone else can claim to be doing it. That would not be right.

Why would Ritu Kumar claim otherwise in interviews? She has also shared a sketch of the same with the press I can’t comment on that. Ritu ji is a senior designer.

What else have you designed for Kareena around her big day? I am doing all of Kareena’s outfits, in fact all of Lolo’s outfits, too (Lolo is Kareena’s sister Karisma’s nickname). For a pre-wedding function on the 14th, I have designed a garara for her, since gararas are so in these days. Then she will wear Sharmila ji’s royal lehenga on the 16th for the signing ceremony, followed by another lehenga for a party with close friends in the evening. For her more formal reception in Delhi on the 18th, I’ve planned an exquisite sari for her.

Is Saif Ali Khan also going to wear your creations? No he won’t. As far as I know, Raghavendra Rathore is designing his wedding outfit. Saif anyway is a very classic suit kind of a person. Kareena, however has insisted that all her outfits be completely Indian, and all should have an old-world charm to them.

Apart from being her designer, you are also Kareena’s closest friend. How are the preparations for the wedding? My house has become a rehearsal venue as all of us — me, Karan (Johar), Amrita Arora etc are practicing our dancing steps everyday for Bebo’s sangeet. We shall be dancing on Kareena’s popular numbers such as Chhammak Chhallo but we’ll also be dancing and enacting a lot of Saif’s songs. We are sure that would make her even happier.

And Ritu says... We called Ritu Kumar to check on Manish’s claim and whether she is still restoring Kareena’s dress. “I just don’t want to say anything now, it is a sensitive topic for me. The family is best placed to comment on it,” she said.

Finally, she was ascended as first female foreign minister of the country in July 2011 after the surprise and dramatic resignation of Mehmood Qureshi. Since 2008, she has been a senior and high-ranking member of the Central Executive Committee, and is widely regarded as one of the highest ranking female officer in the political arena of Pakistan.

She is married to Firoze Gulzar, with whom she has two daughters, Annaya and Dina. She is the co-owner of the expensive, five-star restaurant, the "Polo Lounge", on the Lahore Polo Ground.

Madhur Bhandarkar Talks About His Heroine

1.After reading and hearing all the verbose comments, most of them unpleasant, on your latest film, Heroine, is there anything you’d like to change or alter in the film? 

 I make films with conviction on subjects from different areas of life and varied premises. Every film of mine has met with a mixed response – it is not new for me at all to see such extreme reactions. From Chandni Bar to Heroine, I’ve faced mixed reviews. People have not liked all my films – Page 3, Corporate had people speaking against them more than for them. I am very happy with Heroine and I have no regrets, creatively. Maybe in retrospect, over the years, I may do, but not right now. It is in every creative person’s nature to crave betterment and I am no different. I am extremely happy with Kareena Kapoor’s work in the film – she has pushed the envelope and her performance in the film has garnered amazing reviews all across the world. My phone and BBM are flooded with praise for her work and that is very satisfying. People have been calling me and telling me Heroine is my best work, that I’ve done a great job as director and that Kareena and I are a fantastic combination. A still from the film Heroine.

 2. What makes you happier – your creative work in the film or that Heroine has made 25 crore since Friday? Definitely, my creativity in the film, but Heroine was made on a budget of 21 crore and since its release, it has made 25 crore! The film has an “A” certificate and it has got Kareena playing the lead – I am overwhelmed by the audiences’ love for my film, Heroine. The box office collections of Heroine are stable and steady and we are going to make 15 crore on satellite rights and from the endorsements Kareena did in the film. Heroine is a profitable venture for all those involved in the film. The mathematics of the film have proved viable and I am pleased. Heroine’s box office collections in four days have surpassed Fashion’s, which was 27 crore. Heroine’s a blatant film and it worked at the box office and I’m a Bollywood insider and I did a good job with Heroine.

3.After all the innuendos on other actors’ lives via the characters in Heroine, how difficult will it be to cast for your next film? I don’t think any of that matters really. People should remember it is just a film. When I am ready with my next script, I’ll know.
